The Economic Development Collaborative (EDC) is centered on fostering an inclusive and resilient economy by focusing on three key domains: Education and Workforce Development, Jobs and Business Development, and Housing and Community Development. By enhancing coordination within these areas, we aim to bridge gaps between public agencies, programs, and funding streams to create more effective and equitable opportunities for individuals, businesses, and communities. The following metrics are ways we are actively working to measure and assess our efforts in achieving these goals.

Methodology

The 2024 Sonoma County Indicators present a comparative analysis of key economic, demographic, and social metrics within Sonoma County. The research compiled by the EDC is based on data sourced from publicly available external databases and previously published reports. The frequency of data updates varies depending on the organization and the type of data collected.

This report reflects either partial datasets or synthesized representations of raw data. All data sources are cited accordingly, including the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the MIT Living Wage Calculator, among others. In certain instances, the EDC conducted internal data processing from publicly available datasets to generate credible population estimates and other key figures.

For further details, please refer to the websites of the cited sources or contact the EDC research team directly at edc@sonoma-county.org.
